Daley Plaza Farmers Market, run by the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), is the city's longest-running farmers market -- now in its 48th year -- drawing about 60 vendors to the Loop every Thursday in season. The historic Maxwell Street Market, also run by DCASE in partnership with the Maxwell Street Foundation, holds six select Sunday dates a year on the Near West Side.
